Queensland Product Recall

Elektra Junior Kids Electric Scooter

Title

Last updated: 8th of February 2026

At Hoveroo, the safety of children and the wellbeing of families are central to everything we do. We take our responsibilities to Queensland families seriously and are committed to acting transparently and in compliance with Queensland law.

We are issuing a Queensland-wide product recall relating to the Elektra Junior Kids Electric Scooter.

why is this recall being conducted?

Electric scooters are regulated under Queensland law, with specific rules applying to their use in public areas. This recall is being conducted to ensure families are clearly informed about those rules and that our products are supplied and used in accordance with Queensland requirements.

what is the issue?

In Queensland, electric scooters used in public areas — including footpaths, roads, shared paths, bike paths, parks, and other public spaces — must be incapable of exceeding 10 km/h when propelled by the motor.

The Elektra Junior Kids Electric Scooter is capable of travelling at speeds of up to 16 km/h when motor-propelled. As a result, it does not meet Queensland requirements for use in public areas. This regulatory classification issue is the reason for the recall.

what should you do?

If you own an Elektra Junior Kids Electric Scooter in Queensland, please stop using the product in public areas and participate in the recall if you would like a remedy.

what about use on private property?

When used sensibly and responsibly on private property (for example at home, in a backyard, on a driveway, on a farm, or within private premises), the scooter may continue to be enjoyed as intended and does not raise an issue under Queensland road or transport laws.

This recall is not being conducted due to any identified defect, malfunction, or reported safety incident involving the product itself. It relates to how the product is classified and regulated for use in public areas under Queensland law.
